pay atenshon

this week is going by pretty fast for some reason. maybe it's the testing that my students are doing and all the assignments i needed and still need to do. i always procrastinate!!! i don't know why i always do this to myself. i had a science productive learning center to present monday. i had plenty of time to do it over the weekend....but noooo....i watched house of wax, went to dinners, and other things. after i came back from san jose, i stayed up until about 12:30 finishing up the project. i guess that's not too bad. and according to my prof, i made it too sophisticated for 2nd graders. which i kind of agree with. it's suppose to be a learning center that kids can go to during free time and work there with little supervision. we'll see how it goes...

i also bought mealworms for the class. i didn't know where to get them...so i called a bunch of places and found that the berkeley vivarium...which is this reptile store on 5th st had them. if you haven't been there, it's worth a visit. i like looking at snakes, lizards, spiders, and other weird animals. i wouldn't want to ever keep one...but just to look at.

so, this week the class has been doing their STAR tests. i'm not gonna go into the whole thing and all my thoughts on it because this entry would get too long. anyhow, i've been going over some practice with them in the mornings to get their brains going. it's been sooo difficult. yesterday, my master teacher had to stop the class and rebuke them. they were just not paying attentions, fooling around, playing with their pencils - everything and anything BUT caring about their education. i understand they're in 2nd grade and can't sit still for more than 10 minutes...but they were acting up more than usual. anyways, she made them all an apology to me bc i was up there trying to help them on their test and they didn't care. when i got the letters, i couldn't help but laugh at some of them.
