Year of the Rooster

CockadoodledoOoOo...Happy Chinese New Year! I didn't even realize it was today until John was talking about calling his parents. I just glanced over at my calendar thinking of the endless things I have to do...and saw that 2005 is the year of the rooster. As I child I think I was more aware of this kind of stuff. Now, it's all just thinking about serious stuff...life decisions, goals, dreams, aspirations...blah, blah blah. I'm not saying that these things aren't important...they are!! But we do lose sight of all the little things that give us joy in the midst of our busy lives. Now that I'm in a classroom everyday, it reminds me of what used to make us sooo happy when we were little. Kids get so excited when they get a new book order form, a new pencil, or a tiny sticker for doing a timed sheet in less than a minute.

I guess I'm trying to become more like that. Like today when our reading class got cancelled, I was super duper excited. =) I came home early, did some organizing, and now I'm writing in my blog. aaahhhh....I miss having free time. This week has been busy, busy. Full day at Westwood on Monday, presentation and quiz yesterday, writing lesson plan today, and another quiz tomorrow. My master teacher is great and she's been giving me some feedback and more responsibilities. Sometimes I feel like I'm boring the kids. I need to practice making my voice more animated. If anyone has any suggestions, let me know! To my friends, family and John, sorry for being so busy with my own stuff lately. Thank you for understanding and I am always here for you guys if you ever need anything.

btw...snowboarding this past weekend at Heavenly was grrrreat. I'm finally done with being sore. Jamie and I sorta started carving...we still need mucho practice though. Hopefully, I'll pick up where I left off next time.
